Update: September 7 @ 1:30pm
Due to continued uncertainty with the weather forecast through Sunday evening, the event that was scheduled for Riverside International Speedway for today has been postponed until Saturday, October 12.
As such, the Scotia Diesel 155 will be the championship points race for the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour and the Nickerson Auto Salvage 55 will be the championship race for the Dulux Paint MASS Street Stocks.
Any hope of running the event on Sunday ended with the heavy rain today leading to an expected drying time for the pit and grounds lasting well into Sunday combined with the forecast of more precipitation later Sunday afternoon.
Full details for the October 12 event will be announced as available.
Advance tickets issued for September 7 will be valid for the make-up date.
JAMES RIVER, NS (September 6, 2024) – Management for Riverside International Speedway and the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour are postponing the event scheduled for Riverside on Saturday due to the storm forecast to move in over the region on Friday night lasting through late Saturday/early Sunday. A decision will be made by mid-day Saturday as to whether the rain date will be Sunday, or not.
The current forecast shows heavy rain lasting into the wee hours of Sunday morning and more precipitation moving in mid to late afternoon on Sunday; whether Sunday is doable, or not, will depend on several things including how those factors will affect when the facility will be dry enough to use and how big the window is to get the show in before the rain starts again – all things that will be more apparent by mid-day Saturday.
The Back to School Spectacular is scheduled to include the Scotia Diesel 155 for the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour, the Nickerson Auto Salvage 55 for the Dulux Paint MASS Street Stock, and the Whispering Winds Campground MASS Mini Stock 55.
Advance tickets purchased for Saturday will be valid for the make-up date.
