Austin MacDonald (Pictou, NS) picked up his first career win at one of the most prestigious races on the Series – Summer Clash 250. The young driver survived a battle royale all day on track to emerge victorious. MacDonald was eager to get his hands on the iconic Scott Fraser Memorial Cup as soon as he stepped onto the podium.
Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) kept his nose clean for most of the Clash and was able to come away with a second place finish. Last year’s Summer Clash winner Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) captured the final spot on the podium. Robbie MacEwen (Charlottetown, PE) was fourth, followed by Gage Gilby (Enfield, NS) who came home with a top-five finish in his first Summer Clash 250 appearance.
Craig Slaunwhite (Terence Bay, NS) sat on the pole for Summer Clash 250 after setting a blistering speed of 14.137sec in the Top Construction Time Trials. Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) was also on the front row after turning the second fastest lap. The remaining teams competed in Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races. Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS), Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) and Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) won their respective races which set the field for Summer Clash 250.
Slaunwhite and Proude both had mechanical issues in the early stages of the race and were unable to finish. Danny Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) accepted the Pole Challenge but was also out early due to mechanical problems.

The Heart of Champion Vintage Race Car Series put on a fantastic show for fans prior to the Summer Clash 250. The race as won by Peter Lawrence (Beaver Bank, NS).
The Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends raced a 50 lap feature with Danny Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) crossing the finish line first. Aiden Christensen (Windsor Junction, NS) was second with Josh Langille (Coldbrook, NS) in third.

The East Coast International Pro Stock Tour returns to Scotia Speedworld this Saturday for the Summer Clash 250 presented by Superior Foundations and Atlantic Tiltload. With 23 teams already registered for the event and the biggest purse in Scotia Speedworld history up for grabs, action on the track is sure to be intense!
Drivers will be up on the wheel trying to earn their slice of the $108,000 plus purse and contingencies up for grabs. The winner will walk away with at least $16,500 and have their name etched on the iconic Scott Fraser Memorial Cup. Grandstands will open at 1:00pm on Saturday with racing slated to get underway at 4:00pm.
Qualifying for the Summer Clash 250 will take place on Friday evening with Time Trials presented by Top Construction. The winner of Time Trials will take home $1,000 and Pole Position for the main event. The outside pole will also be decided via Time Trials on Friday night.
Following Time Trials fans can take in the Bay Equipment Rental Weekly Racing Series featuring the Superior Foundations 100 for the Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman. Grandstands open at 5:00pm with racing action at 7:00pm. Two dozen entries are expected to compete for the prestigious Superior Foundations 100 victory on Friday. The Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman have been competing over the past two races for the On Site Heavy Duty Rust Control Bounty, which will guarantee the winner of Friday’s Superior Foundations 100 an extra $1200 in prize money. The expected entry list can be found on the Scotia Speedworld social media platforms.
As we head into Summer Clash three young guns currently hold the top three spots in the chase for the Championship. Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) continues to sit atop the leader board. Austin MacDonald (Pictou, NS) is second, with rookie sensation Gage Gilby (Enfield, NS) in third. Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) and Mike Rodgers (Moncton, NB) are hot on their heels, sitting fourth and fifth respectively. Only 47 points separate the top-five drivers as we head into one of the most iconic races on the Series.
Also, on the racing card for Saturday are the Cross Roads Maritime League of Legends who will run a 50-lap feature. The Heart of a Champion Vintage Race Car Series will also put on a show for fans prior to the main event, Summer Clash 250!
