Scotia Speedworld and the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour are gearing up for three days of action-packed activity as part of Summer Clash 250 weekend presented by Superior Foundations and Atlantic Tiltload. The Summer Clash 250 will take place on Saturday, August 10th at Scotia Speedworld and will feature racing talent from across the Maritimes and beyond. With an expected purse and contingencies worth over $100,000 fans can expect incredible action on the track from the moment the green flag drops!
The Summer Clash 250 is the highlight event of a three-day extravaganza which will kick-off on Thursday with the Annual Food Truck Rally and Show & Shine. Bring your appetite as we have 12 food trucks who will be serving up some delicious dishes. With over 100 cars already registered for the Show N Shine the track will be filled with cool rides of every kind. If you would like to register your car or truck visit www.scotiaspeedworld.ca. There will also be a huge bouncy castle for the kids and a fun pit stop challenge. This year we have also added some live music, local artist Jon Cyr will be rocking in the beer garden starting at 7:00pm. Tickets for the Food Truck Rally and Show & Shine are just $5 and will be available at the gates on Thursday starting at 5:00pm.
Friday night will feature Time Trials for the East Coast International Pro Stock Tour. The Time Trials winner will receive $1,000 with $200 going to each driver who Time Trials courtesy of Top Construction. Following Pro Stock Tour qualifying fans can take in the Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series featuring the Superior Foundations 100 for the Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman cars.
Saturday the Summer Clash 250 will keep fans on the edge of their seats as drivers battle for their piece of thepurse and the coveted Scott Fraser Memorial Cup. Just some of the funds teams will be competing for include $1,500 for leading at halfway and a $2,500 Pole Challenge – not to mention $75 for every lap lead! Laps were sold for $100 with $25 going to the SPCA. All 250 laps have been sold, so the SPCA will be receiving a donation of $6,250! Complete purse and contingency details will be released soon.
The Bluenose Pools Chase the Checkers Fan Award is back and will see one lucky fan win $1,500! Anyone who purchases an advance ticket online before Monday, August 5th will be entered in a draw to participate in the Chase the Checkers award. A random draw of advance ticket purchasers will be made, those who are lucky enough to be selected will come onto the front stretch at the Summer Clash 250 for opening ceremonies and will draw a driver’s name out of the entry list and be matched with that driver for the day. Whoever wins the Summer Clash 250 will take home an additional $1,500 as will the fan who drew their number! Chase the Checkers is being presented by Bluenose Pools.
Tim’s Corner Motorsports and TimsCorner.tv will be on site to produce a live video broadcast of the Summer Clash 250 presented by Superior Foundations and Atlantic Tiltload. The race will also air on Eastlink Community TV and REV TV Canada at a later date to be announced.
