For Scotia Speedworld...

  • The 05 switch to Friday nights for the Budweiser Weekly Racing was successful - seeing an increase to more than 1,000 average spectators per week.

  • Budweiser Weekly Racing shows to feature six divisions this year: C&R Auto Supply, Hobby Stock, RV Contacts Legends, Miller Tire

  • BFGoodrich Thunder & Lightning and the new-for-06 Bandaleros.

  • Scotia Speedworld is the first race track in Canada to host Bandaleros, a division for kids from 8 to 15. Bandaleros will see several second generation drviers including Bradley Eddy (Dan Eddy's son) and Cody Flemming (John Flemming's son).

  • Special events set for 06 include two PASS shows, three CARQUEST Tour shows and the USHRA Monster Jam.

  • Budweiser Weekly Racing starts at Scotia Speedworld this Friday (May 26) at 7:30 p.m.

    For the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour...

  • 06 sees a plan to grow on the success of 05 when car count was at an all-time high with 44 teams competing overall, 20 full-time. 06 registration to-date equals 05.

  • 05 champion Rollie MacDonald is in a wait-and-see mode, planning to run the first few events then evaluate how competitive he is before deciding whether to continue full-time, or take well-deserved time to enjoy with his family. MacDonald, 62, a grandfather, has many other interests and contends he'll only race so long as it's fun.

  • Fellow former series champs Wayne Smith, John Flemming and Shawn Tucker are all hoping to add to their respective title collections.

  • The EIT Race Radio Rookie of the Year contender crop is stout, featuring: Mike Stevens (Riverview, NB), Sandy Livingston (Springhill, NS), Bobby Neilsen (Vernon River, PEI), Paul Gahan (Lower St. Mary's, NB), Roger Crane (Monatgue, PEI) and Russell Smith, (Lakeside, NB).

  • 11 races at five venues comrpise the 2006 CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour championship schedule; the season opener is June 3 at Scotia Speedworld.
